Footbridge Road Closure - Upwell No1 Footbridge 

Upwell No1 Footbridge will be closed for maintenance work, from 17 March to 4 April 2025 inclusive, for 3 weeks, re-opening late afternoon / early evening on the 4 April. 

The work will involve stripping off existing deck, carrying out steelwork repairs, patch painting and re-decking and using a floating works platform. For this work to take place a full bridge closure is required to maintain a safe working area for our subcontractors. 

A signed diversion route will be in place for the duration of the closure. 

The County Council thanks people for their patience while this maintenance work is carried out. 

The work which will cost £35,000, will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Infrastructure Department and their contractors.
